BRUCE LEDDY graduated from Williams College with a degree in English and Theater, then made the mistake of trying to be an actor in New York. Fortunately, he was saved too much humiliation when MTV hired him as a writer. In seven years with the company he wrote, directed, and produced a wide range of shows from Unplugged, to Rockumentary, to Half Hour Comedy Hour, to the MTV Movie Awards. Looking to advance his comedy directing, he moved to Los Angeles where a two-week tryout at MADtv became a 9 season run, directing over 200 episodes and 1.5 bazillion sketches, and eventually leading to an EP/Show Runner title. Along the way, he directed a muppet TV movie (Cinderelmo) which earned a DGA Award nomination, and wrote/directed the indie feature film The Wedding Weekend (aka Shut Up & Sing) which won 9 film festival awards including Audience Award/Best Feature at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival (it stars Molly Shannon, Rosemarie DeWitt, David Harbour, Elizabeth Reaser, and Mark Feuerstein). Leddy has directed numerous single and multi-camera comedy series including Cougar Town, Good Luck Charlie, Important Things with Demetri Martin, Bunk, and School of Rock. His pilots for The Haunted Hathaways, Crash & Bernstein, I Didn't Do It, and Anthony Jeselnik were all picked up to series. He is also a contributing humor writer for The New Yorker on-line, and segment director for HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
